About guard10 – surveillance camera and cctv systems  – surveillance camera and cctv systems

GUARD10 – SURVEILLANCE CAMERA AND CCTV SYSTEMS  is a range of wireless and wired Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance systems. The camera models combine powerful image processing and network technology to deliver quality video and image streaming.

GUARD10 – SURVEILLANCE CAMERA AND CCTV SYSTEMS  is primarily used to monitor assets and properties in the most convenient yet effective way. Thus, allowing for continuous streaming and recording to playback at any time.

Depending on the model and type, some models are used indoors for viewing short or small areas while some are installed outdoor to view very large areas and long distances.

Primarily there are three(3) main types of GUARD10 – SURVEILLANCE CAMERA AND CCTV SYSTEMS  Surveillance Systems, namely:

  1. Analogue Camera System
  2. Network IP Camera System
    1. Wired IP Camera
    2. Wireless IP Camera
  3. WiFi IP Portable IP Camera

The analog video camera transmits signals via a coaxial cable to a single central location or device called a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) for monitoring, recording, and video analysis.

The GUARD10 – SURVEILLANCE CAMERA AND CCTV SYSTEMS  Analog Camera System consists of the following components for successful installation.

  • Digital Video Recorder
  • Analog Cameras
  • Coaxial Cable (RJ59)
  • BNC Connectors
  • Other Components installation items for DVR and NVR
    • Hard disk HDD
    • Internet Router
    • CCTV Power Box
    • Video Balun

3.0.1.1 Digital Video Recorder

A digital video recorder (DVR) is an electronic device that records video in a digital format to a disk drive or other local or networked mass storage device. The DVR, as an electronic device, inputs information directly from cameras, and the video is then encoded and processed within the DVR.

3.0.1.2 Analog Cameras

There are various kinds of Analog Cameras which is classified based on shape, resolution and functionality. Another significant difference is the connection terminal as shown below;

  1. PTZ Dome Cameras(ANALOG and NETWORK IP)
Powerful pan, tilt and zoom functionality provides these cameras with a comprehensive view in every direction and is a cost effective way to add a Programmable Dome camera that can view all directions by controlling it remotely. There viewing distance can vary from 20m to 300m and zoom from 5x – 20x.

  1. Dome Fixed Cameras(ANALOG and NETWORK IP)
The dome type cameras are usually installed indoors because they are mostly mounted on the ceilings and don’t have waterproof and sun proof to protect them from harsh outdoor weather.

  1. Bullet Fixed Cameras(ANALOG and NETWORK IP)
The Bullet Cameras provide high resolution images in a versatile camera enclosure. Ideal for indoor and outdoor commercial environments, these cameras are commonly used with a weatherproof, vandal-resistant enclosure for outdoor applications such as for a building perimeter or parking garage.

3.0.1.3 Coaxial Cables (RJ59)

RG59 Siamese CCTV cable allows installers to run both the video and power to security cameras (analog CCTV, 720p and 1080p HD cameras) using a single cable run

3.0.1.4 BNC Connectors

The BNC (Bayonet Neill–Concelman) connector is a miniature quick connect/disconnect radio frequency connector used for coaxial cable. Used to connect coaxial cable to DVR and Analog Camera, can also be used to join two ends of a coaxial cable using the Male and Female.

3.0.1.5 Other Camera Installation Components for DVR and NVR

The other camera components required for successful installation of Analog camera include:

  • Hard disk HDD
  • Internet Router
  • CCTV Power Box
  • Video Balun

  • CCTV Hard disk (HDD)

The hard disk is installed in the DVR or NVR for purpose of recording camera feeds.  The difference between the Computer hard drive and CCTV hard drives, is their ability to withstand always-on operational demands. Desktop hard drives do not include the application-specific features necessary to handle these environments. In contrast, surveillance HDDs are built to record data 24×7 from multiple camera streams or channels. They come in different sizes, 500GB, 1TB, 2TB etc.

  • Internet Router

The internet router is to provide a link between the DVR or NVR and the WAN (Wide Area Network).  This enables remote viewing from any smart mobile device or PC.

  • CCTV Power Box

The cctv power box is a central power system that is responsible for supplying 12v power to the cameras. This aids easy installation and maintains a more stable power supply voltage to the cameras. They come in different channels ranging from 4-Channel to 32-Channel power box.

  • Video Balun

Analog CCTV video baluns, also known as UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) baluns, allow traditional coax cable to be replaced by category 5 (CAT-5) and other forms of twisted pair wire in CCTV video camera & surveillance installations. Video baluns allow installers to use more cost effective structured cabling techniques to wire security cameras. By using video baluns, UTP wire such as cat-5 can be run over longer distances easier than coax cable and for less money.
